15 things we all think and do when using Instagram and Pinterest.

1. "OMG I NEED A HOUSE AS WHITE AS THAT" you exclaim as you examine the photograph up close hoping to spot a stain that ruins the perfect illusion.

2. *loads up the Boots website and buys all the nude lip liners in the world* because if it works for Kylie Jenner, it's clearly going to work for you too.

3. "Does her contour really look like that or is she just using a really good filter?" It's just impossible to tell.

4. Seeing a photo of an amazing burger whilst you're tucking into your Weightwatchers microwave lasagne is enough to ruin your whole week.

5. A random photo of a cat get thousands of likes so you upload a photo of your cute lil kitty and it gets a grand total of 4 likes. Oh.

6. Losing a follower and immediately checking your feed to see what you last posted in case you've accidentally offended someone.

7. Buying all the ingredients to make a rainbow cake but your food colouring must have got confused as your cake looks like vomit.

8. Liking photos of salads, bottles of fruit infused water and photos of girls with dreamy bodies whilst dipping dorito after dorito in a calorific sauce.

9. Logging onto Amazon and buying loads of pretty white/grey/pink blogger hyped books purely to use as decor because it just looked so damn nice on Pinterest.

10. Getting really pissed off that you've just taken a bite out of your cake before instagramming it cause your BFF just got hundreds of likes on her cake photo.

11. Posting a selfie that doesn't get at least 5 likes in the first minute results in you taking it down immediately because you must be really ugly and you really can't afford to be losing more followers.

12. You get seriously embarrassed when you realise you've pinned a photo of a bedroom to your makeup board. THAT DOES NOT BELONG THERE!

13. Rolling your eyes at the 405393820 Starbucks photos on Instagram but then heading into your local Starbucks cafe and immediately taking a photo of your drink cause if you didn't take a photo, it basically didn't happen and the world needs to know you drink Starbucks and not the free vending machine hot chocolates at work right?

14. When you work really hard on your brightness and contrasting skills and your photo just gets SO many likes and you feel like a complete goddess.

15. Feeling totes creative after making a 'memories jar' thanks to your good pal Pinterest then it gets to the end of the year and you find your memories jar under your bed, covered in dust with a total of one pieces of paper in it. You take the piece of paper out and it reads 'made this memory jar for all my memories this year'.

Four mini makeup reviews in one post

I had a makeup clear out a couple of weeks ago and found some products that I hadn't yet tried and some that had just completely got lost in my stack of makeup drawers - hoarder, I am! I wanted to review some of said products but I didn't have enough to say about each of them separately to warrant a post of their own if you get my drift? so I've decided on just reviewing 4 in 1. How lucky are you!

Alright, so the first thing that becomes apparent when reading this post is that there's no bloody swatch of the nail polish. I've put this post off because I didn't have a swatch and then I just thought, y'know what, I could just tell you to google the swatches so pleaseeee do that instead! The truth is, I absolutely hated this nail polish and I don't want to go through the pain of painting my nails with it again all for the sake of one photo. Models Own Chrome Rose has the prettiest bottle I've ever seen and I could just look at it all day but the polish itself sadly didn't suit my pale skin tone.  Not only did it not suit me, it also made my nails look hideous. I don't know whether it's the chrome finish but my nails looked like they were in terrible condition underneath it. A plus is that you only need one layer for a good coverage but a negative is that it chips quicker than you could say the word 'chip'.

I actually found the Barry M black marker pen in a bargain bin at Tesco for £2.50 so believe me when I say I'm pretty chuffed.  The packaging is pretty 'meh' which I think is pretty standard for a Barry M non nail polish product so I don't really have a lot to comment on it. I do love the fact it's literally like a marker pen, you get a thick black line due to the massive felt tip type nib but if thick liner's not your thing, there's no compromise for a thinner line I'm afraid. I've used this liner around 5 times and each time it's stayed put all day. It's black but not black if that makes sense, it's not as black as the Collection liner which still claims 'number one eyeliner' space in my heart. Oh and it also seems to be drying out which makes me sad but I don't know whether this is down to the fact that it was massively reduced.

I love a good Baby Lips lip balm. They're great to have on your desk at work or just to have as a backup product in your bag.  The regular formula ones don't really make much of a difference to the condition of my lips so I thought I'd try out the Dr Rescue Too Cool edition.  I've been loving the tingly sensation from the mint especially when applied in the morning to prepare for lipstick cause it wakes me up a bit.  I do think it does a lot better job at moisturising compared to the regular Baby Lips so good work, Maybelline!

Judging from the product itself inside the W7 Africa Blush box, you'd have every right to be terrified. Bronzer, an orange combination of blush/bronze and a bright pink blusher shouldn't work but MY GOODNESS, it does.  I absolutely love this blusher - you can build it up or just have a subtle sweep across your cheeks and it still looks really nice. An added bonus is that it also lasts all day so there's no need for touch ups. An extra added bonus is that the brush it comes with is useless for the actual bronzer but ridiculously great for contouring those cheekbones with a contouring cream.

Have you tried any of these products?

How to make a basic blog header when you really don't have a clue

Ok, so admittedly I didn't design my current blog header but for around 3 years I used to make mine using two easy peasy simple tools - Microsoft Paint and DaFont.  I completely taught myself this (although there really isn't anything to it) so it's not going to be the 'professional' way but if you're a new blogger or just fancy a new header but don't know how the hell to go about making one, this post is for you.

Step one: Find a font that you love on Pick about 5 or 10 so you can experiment with them as some don't look as great as you think they're going to then just click the download button to save them to your computer. You'll then need to click on the font and select 'install font' to install them onto your computer. For this post, I've picked Candy Cane Stripe and Honey Script.

Step two: Select Layout, then Template Designer from your blogger dashboard, click on adjust widths and make a note of the measurement of your blog. As you can see from the screenshot above, mine is 1090px.

Step three: Open paint and change the size of your picture to match your blog width. The height depends on how big you want your header to be and how much you actually want to include in it. I find anything between 150-300 pixels is just right.  BTW, I had to download Paint for MAC so mine will look different to yours if you're not using a MAC!

Step four: This is the fun bit! Play around with your header, experiment with different fonts and sizes and just have fun making something that's exactly you. Once you're happy with your header, save it but make sure you save it as a PNG file - i don't know what a PNG file is but I know that if you save it as this, it'll look exactly as it does on paint. If you save as a JPEG, it goes all blurry and the colour goes a bit off!

Step five: INSTALL YOUR BLOG HEADER! Go to your blogger dashboard, click on layout and then select 'edit' on the header tab. You then just need to upload your image, make sure the 'instead of title and description' box is ticked and click save. Then preview your new and improved blog header!

So that's how you can make your blog look prettier in about 20 minutes. It's literally so simple and if I can do it, you definitely can too! I hope this little five step tutorial was helpful and let me know if you decide to create your own blog header on the back of this post as I'd love to see it.

I'm thinking about writing another post about other quick, simple ways to improve your blog look so let me know if you'd like that :)

20 things I miss about Social Media as a teenager.

I spend roughly around 75% of my free time on social media which is absolute MADNESS. I remember the days getting to go on the internet got me crazy excited and I'd argue with my family about which one of us was going to go on the computer first and how long we'd have. I have a 9 year old brother now who has an iPad, an xbox, a laptop, a phone all with access to the internet whenever he wants. I feel a little jealous that I didn't have that as a kid but also I feel sad that he doesn't get to feel the excitement of what I did when my Mum muttered 'go on then' after me begging her for hours for a go on the Computer.  Anyway, I've wrote a list about all the things I miss about social media back then. We have so many more websites now but they're just nowhere near as magical as they used to be.

1. The hardest part of your day was deciding which one of your friends deserved your love on Bebo.

2. Habbo was EVERYTHING until you fell for one of the 'omg type your password in to the chat box and it comes up like this *****' scams and all your furni got stolen and your mum wouldn't let you buy any more credits on the house phone.

3. Pretending your cam was broken on MSN because you were in your pyjamas and had no makeup on. Then having to prove it was broken by putting blu tack over the lens after accepting your friends cam request (was that just me with the blu tack thing? tell me it wasn't).

4. Wanting to change your other half on Bebo but not wanting to hurt your current other half's feelings.

5. Getting friend requests on Myspace from ridiculously good looking emo boys then realising they were fake. Oh.

6. Putting your makeup on and doing your hair really nice for an msn cam sesh then your Mum decides she needs to call her friend for 4559538 hours.

7. Playing Owned! on facebook and getting really giddy when the boy you fancied bought you off someone for a really high price.

8. MSN nudges. They were the most irritating thing at the time but I'd give anything to get a nudge just one last time.

9. Attending every costume change/falling furni/modelling competition on Habbo that you possibly could because you just needed to desperately win that 1 credit piece of virtual furniture but never winning because your internet would never hold out that long and you just got disconnected. Bobba you, modem!

10. Going on Teen Chat with your mates and acting all cool whenever someone asked 'ASL'. Errr, 84/no thanks/disneyland. TOP BANTER.

11. Making a piczo website with tons of flashy images and icons of Chad Michael Murray and those freaky little cartoon dolls.

12. Spending forever searching through all the quotes on because you needed to find one that was just perfect and showed exactly how you felt for your MSN name.

13. Wanting to have your best friend as your top friend on Bebo/Myspace but also wanting your number one spot to be the boy you were talking to, just so he knew you were serious about him.

14. Finding a way to access MSN at school and feeling like the mutts nuts in the library. Your teacher thought you were working but actually you were chatting to your mate...who was sitting right next to you.

15. 'Accidentally' adding all your MSN contacts in to a massive group conversation. You had no idea how that one happened.

16. Spending hours of your life creating a house on Habbo so you could adopt loads of babies. Then you get bored of the babies constant 'waaaaaaaa' and end up kicking and banning them all out of your room.

17. When your mum wouldn't let you buy any more credits but you were on your last day of Habbo Club. NOBODY will be your friend anymore if you don't have those snazzy outfits and bright pink hair!

18. You used to get so many comments on your bebo/facebook page because private messaging just wasn't a thing! and having to say 'WRITE BACK ON MY WALL, NOT IN THE COMMENTS' to all your pals because you wanted to look more popular.

19. Being so jealous of someones bio on Myspace that you just HAD to steal it. I mean, it's exactly what I'd write anyway so why not?

20. Getting into a really juicy conversation with your mates but then your grandma/grandad/any family member came and sat next to you meaning you had to press shift & enter loads of times in the chat box to clear your convo.

What do you miss about social media? Can you relate to any of these?!

P.S Lets all go and play Habbo.

A peek into my week #1

HI! I'm not gonna lie, I'm bored of blogging about beauty all the time which you may have noticed from my posts over the last couple of months. I'm going to add a sort of 'weekly roundup' post every Sunday which I know is totes unoriginal but it's a post I've always loved reading. Everyone loves a little look in on other people's lives right?!

I've been obsessed with stationary over the past couple of months. I mean, I did already love it but now it's turned into an obsession. I just want alllll the pretty paper in the world! Obvs my stationary obsession is completely justifiable as I'm using it to plan posts and write ideas down that usually manage to slip out of my head within 5 minutes. The little book for big secrets is from Tiger and was only a £1 - such a bargain! They had them in 3 different sizes too.

I took a trip to Primark on Thursday and spied this glittery sippy cup - basically if I was a cup/glass this is what I'd want to look like. I'm hoping it'll make me want to drink tons more water because it's just so pretty that I want it in my hand like, all of the time.

I'm not a massive sock wearer but I hadn't spent as much money as I wanted in Primark so I had a peek at the sock selection and MY GOD, it's good! I just wanted so many pairs. The flump ones are definitely my faves even though I'd probably never wear them outside my house because I imagine a lot of people would find them a tad weird. I've seen people instagramming some cute disney themed socks lately so I'm gonna have to go and pick up some of those too. It's a hard life eh?

I spoke about my stationary obsession earlier which meant I HAD to have a mooch around Paperchase because that shop is like my dream. I just wish it was cheaper but then I sort of don't because I love the feeling when you start writing in a new pad using your BEST handwriting. You just feel fancyyyy because it was so expensive, do you know what I mean?! Anyway, I'd never really noticed the postcard stand before but after twirling it round and round, deciding which ones I'd buy and what I could actually do with them, I decided on the 4 above. Well actually 5 but ones missing. Oops. I bought the little silver frame from Tiger and popped one of the postcards in it and I actually love it! If I saw that on sale in a shop I'd probably buy it for like a fiver but it actually cost just £1.60. Thrifty home decor at it's finest.

My Grandad and I have started writing to eachother which is sooo nice because barely anyone writes actual letters anymore. I can't remember the last time (before this) I received a letter in the post. It's way more exciting than a phone call and you get to read it over and over again and keep it forever. My Grandad actually rang me yesterday to see whether I got the letter which we laughed at because it defeated the whole object and I basically just said everything i'd have written back! I'll have to think of my own questions to ask now, haha.

I went to see Fifty Shades of Grey today and I still don't know how I feel about it. I cringed the whole way throughout the movie, like full on crinkled my nose and frowned - a LOT. It also made me feel mad that there are real girls in the world that would let men treat them like their little sex puppet but each to their own and all that. It did make me want success though, Christian Grey's empire is dreamyyyyy and empowered me a little. Empowered me to be successful and to not let men be mean to me. Ever.

P.S £10.95 for a cinema ticket? WHAT KIND OF WORLD DO WE LIVE IN!

How's your weekend been?! If you write a weekly roundup post, leave the link below because I'd love to read them!

You know you're a hypochondriac when...

If there's one thing in the world that I had to say I was the best at it would be being a hypochondriac. I freak out about anything and everything and you can tell by everybody's eye rolls that it's no secret. I've wrote a post alllll about being a hypochondriac (with GIFs because I love them) that I'm sure many of you will be able to relate to!

1. When you see something red on your hand out the corner of your eye and instantly panic because you think it's blood. No babe, it's just that red lipstick you swatched earlier. Remember?

2. Getting a cold and manically googling all of your symptoms. You're definitely going to die. Should you call the Ambulance now or just alert everyone in your household they'll need to call one for you in an hour or so?

3. You get a pain in your stomach and convince yourself you've got appendicitis.

4. Studying your doctors face whilst she's examining you just in case she's lying when she tells you everything's okay.

5. Calling your Mum in hysterics because you think you've got a major disease. A couple of days later and you find out you just had bad period pains. Awks.

6. Covering your mouth and trying not to touch ANYTHING whilst waiting at the Doctors. Ew, germs. Where's my hand sanitiser at?

7. You're not taking any tablets because you will be the 1 in 984738 that gets the allergic reaction from them.

8. When you're looking in the mirror and then suddenly stop dead in your tracks. OMG have I always had one boob slightly bigger than the other? How come I haven't noticed this before? CAN EVERYONE ELSE TELL?!

9. When anyone else gets ill you know EXACTLY what's wrong with them. You're basically a doctor thanks to good old Googs.

The under £6 perfume that every girl should own

HI! and sorry for the lack of blog posts. I've wanted to blog but Pretty Little Liars has taken up every single minute of my free time so just blame Toby Cavanaugh's six pack face for my absence.

I bought a bag of 5 perfumes for £20 at the Clothes Show in December and instantly regretted it. The woman on the stall just pulled me in and hypnotised me into buying them, honest.  I didn't use any perfumes out of the bag until around a week ago but the beautifully tacky Steps Guilty Pleasure disco ball perfume just intrigued me...

I didn't think I'd ever be sitting here blogging about a Steps perfume so I didn't bother taking photos of the actual perfume packaging, the fact that I haven't photographed it makes me mad at myself but I need to get over that.  The outer packaging is pretty hideous - hot pink with a tacky font but the actual product itself makes up for that 100%.  The fact that it's shaped as a disco ball makes me happy. It reminds me of school discos with panda pops drinks and it's just so TACKY, it's wonderful!

Once first sprayed the perfume doesn't reflect it's true potential.  You have to let it settle into your skin  for 30 seconds or so and after that and a little bit of wafting, it transforms. It's a little bit floral, a little bit citrus-y sweet and a little bit sexy. I can't describe the scent at all and whatever I say will not give it justice but the main notes are bergamot, raspberry ripple, peony petals and geranium bourbon - hopefully they make more sense to you than they do to you.  You'll just have to take my word for the fact that it smells AMAZING and I can't imagine how/why anyone could dislike it.

I've been spritzing this on anyone I can whilst raving about how good it is. I just can't get over the fact it actually costs a mere £5.99 for 100ml of product.  It might be Eau De Toilette but that doesn't stop this baby from lasting longer than the working day and my god, that is long.

You can buy this perfume from Amazon here or eBay here.  It'll be a purchase that'll knock your socks off. Promise.

Three makeup favourites that I'll always repurchase

Having an OTT makeup collection means that I often forget about products I once loved so I like to have a little makeup rotation every couple of weeks or so.  There are only three products that I will truly use every single day that I can't bare to switch up - a foundation, a pressed powder and an eyeliner.

I've used the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder for years now as it's the only pressed powder I've found that keeps my face looking fresh all day long.  It instantly mattifys your skin and you can build up your desired amount without it caking up your skin.  I used to apply this with a sponge but I've recently switched to a brush as I find you use much less product and it still does the job just as well! I'm yet to find a pressed powder that beats this.

Collection Extreme 24 hour felt tip liner has been my beauty staple for YEARS! It's the only eyeliner that stays on all day that actually stays looking jet black instead of fading to a dark grey colour. I've been to sleep in this before, woke up and it stays looking exactly how I applied it. It's a complete steal at £2.99 too so if you haven't tried it yet, you need this in your life! I like the felt tip end too as you have a lot of control over the size of the line you want to create. I find with general liquid eyeliners the tip is so flimsy and it makes it hard to get a steady line.

I did a full review on Estee Lauder Double Wear not too long ago which you can read here if you're intrigued.  I've reached a point now where I won't even buy another foundation as I constantly compare everything to this. If you don't like a full coverage then steer clear of Estee Lauder Double Wear as it is very thick and has been known to break people out. Personally, I've never had a problem with breakouts with the product and I will admit that I am known to sleep in my makeup a handful of times a month (total hands over eyes monkey emoji moment). It lasts all day and more if you want it too and everything I own is covered in it - I really need to stop touching my face throughout the day! You're either going to love or hate this foundation - obviously I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Beauty mistakes I made as a noughties teenager

I was putting my makeup on this morning and I just thought to myself, 'when did my makeup routine get so complicated'?! I then spent the next twenty minutes thinking about my beauty routine as a teenager and VOILA! this blog post was born.

1. Wearing white eyeliner as an erm, eyeshadow. This literally makes me cringe and scrunch up my nose as I genuinely thought it was the BEST look ever. It was hideous.

2.  Being scared of mascara and over compensating with a kohl black eyeliner instead by just wearing a thick black line of it on my waterline. My eyes were basically non existent.

3.   Absolutely dousing myself in Vanderbilt perfume that I'd stolen off my Mum only for my friends to say 'CAN ANYONE ELSE SMELL OLD LADIES?!' every five minutes. Awks.

4. Having at least 5 tubs of Vaseline in my bag that were all dented and had been scratched within an inch of their lives (bored in lessons + compass = scratched vaseline tub).

5. Scraping my hair into the tightest ponytail ever then combing out all of the lumps because it needed to be PERFECT. Then adding some gel to make sure it stayed slick all day long.

6. Discovering Dream Matte Mousse foundation and insisting that a shade that was 3 times darker than my actual skin tone was just made for me, y'know?! Obviously a foundation line is essential cause who would know you're wearing it otherwise? DUH.

7. Having a major hissy fit because the minty Natural Collection lip gloss was completely sold out in Boots and I just needed massive lips like my friends.

8.  BARRY M DAZZLE DUST!! Need I say more? but seriously, I used to wear the bright green one right up to my brow bone. I'm so ashamed right now.

9. Wearing concealer. On my lips. Come on, you did it too!

10. Getting shouted at by my Mum for using all the cucumbers for my fresh face mask. Cheers Shout magazine.

11. Getting up an hour earlier to go to my friends house cause she had GHD's. Then straightening my hair until it was flat on my head and having a total melt down if it rained.

12. Going weeks without removing my chipped nail varnish because nobody really cared what your nails looked like. Did they?

13. Having lips that constantly looked like you'd just ate a greasy bag of chips because you couldn't stop applying your fav clear lipgloss.

What beauty mistakes did you make as a teenager?! Can you relate to any of these?
